The Curious Events of Obvious Outsiders

The film follows three seperate stories which are all interlinked. Each story reveals and explains previous events. First chapter follows a story of the main characters creation of a group and their events, second chapter follows a story of the main characters flashbacks, and the third chapter follows a story of the men chasing the main character, with the final chapter picking up where the opening sequence and first chapter left off. Chapter 1 and 2 continuously jump between each other allowing the films story to become explained better and the flashbacks to be easily recognised.

The film's opening sequence begins with Richard Duke, who is the films protagonist, being escorted out of an office building looking very angry. The scene cuts to him running into a bank with three other men who are all wearing masks and a couple of them begin to fire their guns in the air, Richard jumps onto a desk whilst hysterically laughing but stops as we hear police coming in and shouting.

First Chapter

Begins with the films main character looking very rough and randomly searching for three men to create an unofficial group promoting deluded ideas. He gathers a group of three men who strongly believe that together they can do something with their lives. The group of men he gathers are quite clumsy and stupid, partly why they have decided to work with Ricahrd and often creating comical scenarios. They begin plotting their attempt to rob specifically chosen banks. They succeed everytime by breaking into vaults but the money is never taken. Creating ambiguity about their tasks as their reasons are not revealed. On several occassions they come close to getting caught with sirens heard. The final scene of chapter 1 comes straight after the second chapters final flashback is shown with the group of ''bank robbers'' about to enter a bank looking nervous. When they enter it shows the exact same ending from the opening sequence but this time revealing who entered the bank after them, Auryon Hunt, Samael David and several heavily guarded officers, but ending straight afterwards.

Second Chapter

This section of the film is all flashback revealing Richard Dukes story of when he worked in a bank, controlling the banks security and money. In this chapter we are introduced to many vital characters. Richard Duke is best friends with Calvin Campbell, films false protagonist, who is often seen in serious conversation with Ricahrds boss, Samael David, the films antagonist. Duke begins to notice money dissapearing from the bank and his boss begins to threat the safety of his job. Investigations begin with Officer Auryon Hunt leading it and working close with Samael David. Everything begins to suggest that Richard Duke is stealing and is subsequently fired and escorted from his office but is not arrested or charged by his boss suggesting he was framed. Richard begins to come up with a plan with Calvin Campbell who always seems to be more of a listener than actually helping Richard to get back at Samael David. Final flashback shows Richard desperately trying to get hold of Calvin as he is afraid he shouldnt go ahead with his next robbery as his hunters are gaining on him.

Third Chapter

Follows Samael Davids story which reveals him bribing Calvin and Auryon to frame Ricahrd and make themselves rich. As Richard begins to rob the banks after being successfully framed by Samael David explaining why Richard could not go to officials about his sacking,Samael becomes seriously paranoid.Auryon and his men chasing Richard become very confused as they can't workout his plan with the money always left. The chapter also reveals how close they were to ctaching teh group on several occassions. The final scene shows Auryon Hunt and his men finally catching up with Richard and his group and picks up where it left off from the opening sequence and chapter 1 with Samael also arriving after being informed by Officer Hunt. It becomes a showdown with one of Richard's men being shot by Auryon when he enters and both groups begin firing but is interupted as Calvin enters in police gear with many policemen heavily armed and they arrest them all.
